Sushi is served the authentic way, with vinegared rice topped with pieces of raw seafood. Sashimi is thinly sliced portions of raw meat or fish, without rice. Nabe is a Japanese Hot Pot, or one pot casserole-type dish. Tempura is lightly battered and deep-fried seafood or vegetables, served with various tangy dipping sauces. Teriyaki is grilled or broiled meat or fish basted in a marinade during cooking. Donburi is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of fish, vegetables, meat and spices simmered slowly and served over rice. Maki Sushi is essentially sushi in roll form, wrapped in toasted seaweed with raw seafood fillings inside vinegared rice.
